HOW ARE HEALTHY SMOOTHIE RECIPES MADE?
What an excellent method to obtain a high-nutrient meal—smoothies! They are abundant in fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. Unfortunately, not every smoothie is made equally.
In a single smoothie, the amount of sugar can quickly go to 50 grams. Whole foods like fruits or even added sweeteners can contain that sugar. This leads to an increase in blood sugar, which will make most of us feel not our best overall. Whether you experience an energy slump or hunger pangs shortly after consuming it.
Protein, non-starchy (like greens) and starchy (like potatoes) carbs, and healthy fats are all found in healthy smoothie recipes. I refer to this process as the Foundational Five.
Any meal that has each of the five components in the Foundational Five formula is referred to as a Foundational Five Nourish Meal. This comprises fat, protein, starchy and sweet carbs, non-starchy carbohydrates, and the flavor factor. You can get more information about my Foundational Five system by downloading my free guide if you’re not familiar with it yet!
This straightforward model ensures that food remains adaptable, enjoyable, and nourishing. Smoothies or smoothie bowls, yogurts, oatmeal bowls or breakfast bowls, nourish bowls, salads, soups, stews, and many other dishes may all be made with our Foundational Five Nourish Meals.
These ingredients are included in every healthy smoothie recipe below to ensure that they are all nutrient-dense and will help you feel your best!
